"A sustainable environment is one in which
the natural environment, economic development and social life are seen as mutually
dependent".
-- Centre for Innovative Education
"The
need for healthy biodiversity and countryside underpin
people's additional need for the unmeasurable benefits
that landscape and countryside give them - beauty,
space, silence and peace...."

information for Nova Scotia's Eastern Shore.
Since we began the Bay of Islands Project
in 2001, the World has changed dramatically. Many of the global
changes we spoke of then, are here in 2009. Economic devastation,
peak oil, global food & water shortages, climate change
and other threats to the survival of humanity are mainstream
news.
Thus, we are currently revisioning the Bay of Islands Center
project as a place of learning, as we move through the transitional
years of a new world.
We offer a 'Soft
Landing' program for individuals or couples who wish to live
a sustainable lifestyle in rural Nova Scotia. Expressions
of interest welcome from agro-entrepreneurs in forestry (horse-logging),
organic/heritage gardening, traditional (pre-carbon) trades,
appropriate technology, renewable energy. Please contact
us for more information!
